She's far from sane now,
There are voices in her head,
Telling her to do things,
That she'll definitely regret.
She picks up her phone,
And decides to hit play,
This'll be the last song she hears,
Before her eyes open again.
She rocks back and forth,
Tears not escaping just yet,
As she imagines her paradise,
That'll make her forget.
About to kick the chair,
She says her mental goodbyes,
A tear soddened her note,
As she closed her eyes.
Tell her she’s beautiful,
Stroke her wings,
Kiss her softly,
Listen to her sing.
Hug her from behind,
Lure out her smile,
Sadness has consumed her,
After a while.
Wipe her tears away,
Hold her tightly,
Ease the pain,
She’s feeling, lightly.
Lift her up higher,
Let her fly,
Cut the rope,
Don’t let her die.
So here it begins,
In this maternity ward,
He opens his eyes.
The first thing he sees,
His mother and father there,
A smile appearing.
This little toddler,
So innocent to this life.
Waddling about.
Seven years flew by fast,
Bullies were teasing him at school,
Their words like punches.
Soon he was a teen,
Struggling to stay smiling,
Yet, he couldn’t cry.
Blood fell on his blade,
Red lines covering his arms,
Fell limp on the floor.
He now was sixteen,
He stayed strong for far too long,
A burning grew inside.
He scribbled his note,
Ran and climbed to the top floor,
His eyes spilled with tears.
He walked to the edge,
Taking a loo
She was made of glass,
Fragile and frail,
Eyes of sky blue,
And skin so pale.
Cracked and ridged,
Her heart was smashed,
No tears fell from her eyes,
Skin no longer intact.
Her mind so clouded,
They would never stop,
Voices in her head,
Egging her on.
She looked to her blade,
Shiny and cold,
Blood dripped to the floor,
Feeling a little more whole.
She was already broken,
No-one could fix,
The lines on her arms,
And the cuts on her hips.
A crazed smile haunts the night,
Teeth so sharp; dipped in fright.
Eyes like a burning inferno of pain,
Trapped; a girl whom no-one could save.
A few steps closer, your eyes go wide,
Unable to move; frozen in time.
That deadly laugh; the last thing I heard,
Before my existence was erased from the world.
Imagine my life is Halloween,
Replayed and on forever repeat,
No trick or treating and dressing up,
Just me with my face as my scary mask.
Ghosts and demons are all make believe,
But they exist in my head and haunt my dreams,
I'm in autopilot; completely numb,
And I can't resist the trigger of my gun.
The barrel's in my mouth; I close my eyes,
Screams are made by people outside,
The pain I feel is turned to sorrow,
As my body falls empty and completely hollow.
Cut is just a blade,
Different is just the same,
Fat is just a word,
Normal is just absurd,
Okay is just a lie,
Depressed is just fine,
Stress is just emotion,
Love is just feeling broken,
Scream is just a plea,
Alone is just me.
She’s feeling alone with no one to hold,
The love inside her heart runs cold,
Left out and excluded, she was crying,
But faked a smile when people were asking,
If she was okay, but she was falling deeper,
They didn't understand what lived beneath her,
A monster was edging her on, to end it all,
Creating a hole, making her so very small,
Afraid to trust from being screwed over,
Death is coming, it’s creeping closer,
She believes that she was only born to die,
Wanting to see herself through other’s eyes,
To find out if she’s a bigger mess than she thought,
She is thinking her life results to naught,
Using a blade to bloc
One simple act, so brutal and cruel,
A cut across the throat that’d end it all,
Only 15 years old, he still had far to go,
“ I'm sorry” a voice said, “no-one will know”.
He was just so young to die like that,
His last breath as his whole life flashed,
Before his eyes and a tear escaped,
Killed because he was of a different race.
His mother tried to stay strong but cried,
Into her pillows every single night,
Hoping that this was just a dream,
Her son wasn't dead, it wasn't as it seemed.
His sister tried endlessly to fit in,
As she was called a demon and a sin,
“Whatcha getting your bro for his birthday?&
Seeing someone you love hurting,
Is a truly heart-breaking sight,
I wish I could stop your burning,
Memories of that horrible night.
Your cousin was raped by five men,
She was screaming “Help me, please!”
Her soul-mate was hit once again,
Trying to save his love from seize.
Your cousin died in December,
Too young to leave so soon,
I know you’ll always remember,
Her every time you look at the moon.
You need your boyfriend now,
To comfort and to help you,
Overcome your grief and sorrow,
I know he must miss you too.
But the person that you need,
Is half-way across the world,
Though, I know you’ll always be,
His love,
